Program Notes
Fractal Blooms is a work who’s rhythms are built on the fractal structures of the Fibonacci Sequence. These structures are the same structures that in nature guide the arrangements of the pedals of lowers, the branches of trees, and the leaves of succulents. It is composed as a bit of a game for the performer, wherethey are given agency in the way they navigate it’s rhythmic cycles. Fractal Blooms exists to celebrate the mathematical elegance of plants in nature and aims
to capture the way a single simple rule scales into complex organic forms.
